OUR FOUNDER

The Charity was founded by Josie Grove in the weeks before her death. The aims of Josie’s Dragonfly are based on the express wishes of Josie and her desire to brighten the lives of children and young people living with cancer. It is her experience and her shining example of strength, courage and happiness that forms the basis of the the Trust which has become her inspirational legacy.

Jacqui (Josie’s Mother) is involved with the charity full time. She oversees all the charities activities is the charity’s CEO
“The trust has and always will be, my way of keeping Josie close, but as the charity has grown, it has become more and more about supporting the hundreds of other children that suffer through such long and difficult cancer treatment. We are particuarly eager to help all the children and young people who, like Josie, have to face life without hope of a cure. We continuously strive to raise enough money to do this and with the generous support of others and through raised national awareness we know that we can”
Cliff Grove
Cliff (Josie’s Father) is involved with the charity in it’s structure and plays a vital role in all the decission making.
Dr. Roderick Skinner Consultant / Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer in Paediatric and Adolescent Onchology & Bone Marrow Transplant, Great North Childrens Hospital.

“Josie’s Dragonfly Trust makes a real difference to the lives of children and young people who face a very difficult and uncertain future when their cancer cannot be cured. The Cash Gift gives them a feeling of some independance and helps them achieve important wishes at a time when they have lost much control over their illness. This can make a huge difference to how they feel. For children who are too young to express their own wishes the charity priovides very special memories for families to treasure.
I was privilaged to know Josie extremely well as her consultant in Newcastle and was inspired by her vision for helping others. Josie’s Dragonfly Trust is her truly remarkable legacy and my aim is to work very hard to help this wonderful work continue”
