Whitehaven – Tynemouth

Represent Josie’s Dragonfly Trust on this iconic cycling challenge as you conquer the breadth of Britain by bike!
Starting with your back tyres dipped in the Irish Sea in the seaside town of Whitehaven, this cycle challenge encompasses some of the best scenery Britain has to offer as you tackle the tough 136 mile ride to Tynemouth.
The route is fully supported and takes in long, steep climbs over some of the highest passes in the Lake District, closely followed by some equally impressive descents that will really blow the cobwebs away.
A support team will be on hand to transport your luggage, provide refreshment stops, meals and arrange your accommodation… so all you have to do is get on your bike and ride!
From the stunning mountains of the Lake District to the beautiful open moors of the Northern Pennines – this four day challenge will be one to remember forever.
Day 1 – Whitehaven to Penrith. Cycling distance approx. 50 miles
Day 2 – Penrith to Allenheads. Cycling distance approx. 40 miles
Day 3 – Allenheads to Tynemouth. Cycling distance approx. 50 miles
Day 4 – Following breakfast at your accommodation, you are transferred back to Whitehaven for goodbyes.
