There are now 9 hospitals providing the Cash Gift from Josies Dragonfly Trust to children & teenagers where treatment is no longer curative.
Another 14 hospitals have to wait until we have the funds. Sadly the children in those hospitals who qualify for this special Gift cant wait. They do not have time.
We have given 127 Cash Gifts since we started. 60 of those have been this year alone. Many more children across the UK qualified but we did not have the funds to support them. This year please help us give more of these kids the chance to make one more happy memory.
Here are just a few examples of how the cash gift has made a difference to the last days or weeks of children & young people with cancer:
- To buy a wedding dress for a young woman.
- Special breaks for families to make some special memories
- Nintendo & games for a young lad confined to his home.
- For a young boy to buy presents for his family and baby bother.
- For a double bed so a single mum could sleep next to her young son to comfort him.
- For laptops so teenagers can keep in touch with friends at university through msn.
- For a very special birthday party.
- For young people to buy parting gifts for their loved ones.
- To buy video cameras for families to keep treasured memories.
- For a teenager to spend precious time with her mum at a spa.
- For a young man to achieve some of his personal goals.
- For a young man to treat his extended family to a big family meal out.
- To learn to drive.
- For a special secret garden.
- To take friends to as many Aston Villa games as possible.
- To help a teenager finnish his model railway project.
- Money to spend on simple treats to try and bring a little happiness to each day.
- To buy designer shoes, left to a sister as a treasured posession.
- For a young man to take his fiance on a special holiday,
- To pay for a very special potrait for a young girl & her family
- For a very musical young lad to buy & learn to play a new instrument
- For simple outings to make memories for brothers & sisters.

These are the hospitals accross the UK where Children with Cancer have benefited from the boxes of Crafts & Activities that we are sending out as often as possible.
The 6th shipment of boxes full of Crafts & Activities was sent out in Sep 2009 and we are now getting boxes ready for our 7th delivery in the spring.
